Require Documented Progress Updates

Before construction starts, ask your contractor:
“How will you update me on the project?”
Verbal updates are not enough.
A good construction process should include documented progress reports so you can clearly see what is happening on-site, especially if you are busy, working abroad, or not able to visit regularly.
Ask for:
Photo updates
Clear photos of actual site progress.
Video updates
Short walkthroughs showing completed work and ongoing activities.
Milestone reports
Updates per stage: excavation, foundation, walls, roofing, rough-ins, finishing, and turnover.
Material delivery records
Proof that materials arrived on-site as scheduled.
Issue reports
Any delay, adjustment, or site concern should be reported early.
Payment milestone proof
Before releasing payment, check if the required work stage is completed.
Documented updates protect your money, your timeline, and your peace of mind.
